I have been meaning to write up something related to the many Phishing expeditions that have been hitting me lately related to PayPal. They have been pretty sophisticated and the sites look very official if you go to them.
But being a very well practiced in the art of putting things off, I just haven’t gotten around to it. Today on my rounds of some of my computer magazine reading, I noticed an article in PC Mag, titled “Security Watch: The Vish Are Biting”.
This article covers the PayPal emails I have been getting as well as a new form of phishing called vishing (phishing using voice and actual telephone numbers).
If you aren’t acquainted with the term phishing, you should read it before you act on emails telling you that you have an account of any kind that needs attention.
I have literally quit having to deal with spam in my email inbox. I don’t remember where I read about a product called Lashback, but I downloaded it and installed it. It is a product that attempts to unsubscribe you from the spammers list. It also knows from your usage all people that are considered safe. Continue reading Lashback At Spam

My spam level on this blog has tripled in the last two days. I would think this unusual, if I hadn’t learned of the death of Blue Security at the hands of major spammers in Russia from Epiac’s Website. Continue reading Spammers Are Stronger Than A Blue Frog
Everyday I receive a large amount of “Comment Spam”. When comments are entered, WordPress requires an email and it is also possible to enter a URL of the commenter’s site.
Spam comments obviously don’t have legitimate email addresses. Most fake a yahoo or hotmail address, though I am starting to see that gmail addresses are increasing in use. Continue reading Spam Comments
It is with deep sadness that I notify the fans of Reverend Willy Graham that he is no longer with us. I do not know if he succumbed to one of the many viruses that he received in his emails or if he suddenly became wealthy beyond his wildest dreams and is off doing good for the less fortunate. I understand that at last count he had over 8 new propositions that offered him great wealth.
I only know that his email address has been removed. Wherever you are Reverend Willy, we will always remember you.
