I received a request to post the following:
I said I would.
I talked to Kenia and she said she was still providing packet prices of $150 for 10 massages and a single one hour massage was $30 dollars.
I think she is working by appointment only. Her cell is 6699-1562.
Her salon is around the corner from Micro Technology.
Tell her you heard about her on Chiriquí Chatter.
Yesterday, Lilliam and I treated ourselves to a massage at Kenia’s Salon (formally K&D Salon).
With the name change has come a second room and another masseuse. This is good because now Lilliam and I can go at the same time and leave at the same time.
Let me introduce you to Ana. I have had massages from her and recommend either Ana or Kenia to remove the stress from your day. Continue reading Kenia Salon Y Estetica
Today was a day I have been looking forward to for several days. I had scheduled a massage at the K&D salon and it is one of the luxuries that I have here in Panama that can’t be beat.
I had told you you should take advantage of the package price that Kenia had and maybe several of you did. The price on the 10 massage package is $150, which is an incredible value, especially considering the quality of the massage given.
Another piece of news about K&D. Doris has a surgery scheduled at the end of this month and her last day at the salon will be March 28. Doris will be out for between 1 ½ months and 2 months. Chiriqui Chatter wishes Doris the best and hopes that she returns to the salon feeling much better.
Kenia will notify me when Doris has returned and I will post it. The salon will still be open for massages, manicures, and pedicures. Here is the original post with directions to the salon.
Yesterday, after taking in a Spanish lesson session at Da-Li in the morning and completing some errands, Lilliam and I decided it would be a good day to spoil ourselves.
Lilliam set up an appointment with Doris at K&D and I was lucky enough to get a massage scheduled with Kenia for the same time.
Lilliam came out looking like a model with a new do. She has said she is more satisfied with Doris than any hair dresser she has been to. I have to admit, I also liked the new coloring and style.
If you don’t remember me telling you about K&D and Kenia and Doris, the original post, with directions to the salon, is HERE.
I had purchased a package of ten massages with Kenia, which is currently priced at $150. One of the best things about the package is it is not restricted to being used by one person. I used three of the package’s massages for Christmas presents and the recipients thought they had died and gone to heaven after receiving the gift.
Kenia’s regular price of $25 for an hour massage is a great deal, but $15.00 for an hour massage is almost too good to be true. I have paid as much as $65 dollars in the US for an hour massage that was not nearly as good as the massage that Kenia gives.
I kid you not these are the best massages I have ever had. Bubbling fountain sounds in the background. Aromatherapy massage oil scents that will relax you. Skilled hands that will put make you think you have died and gone to heaven. If you live in David, do yourself a favor and make an appointment to see Kenia.
I know something about the quality massages that are available in David. Being a dedicated research person, I documented my first search for a good massage HERE. Then, for last year’s Valentine surprise, I benefited from my own research which can be seen HERE.
So whether you need a haircut, hair style, manicure, pedicure, or the best massage in Chiriquí, give K&D a try and tell them that Don Ray from Chiriquí Chatter sent you.
I don’t know about you, but this time of year is always stressful to me. With Mother’s Day coming up, Lilliam’s birthday, then Christmas and then after the first of the year work on taxes. Well I have some good news for you. I found a new stress remover and it will help solve several of my problems and maybe some of yours.
Back in December of 2008, I researched the therapeutic massage offerings in David. A good massage always brightens my day and it definitely removes stress. It was a tough assignment I had given myself back then, but somebody had to do it. 🙂
A few months ago I happened to be in a store in David that makes signs. At that time there were two women wanting to have a poster made for their new beauty salon. As they were describing their offerings that needed to appear on the sign, I heard “massage”.
That perked up my ears and I asked where it was going to be located. Well today, I went by the K&D salon. It is located around the corner from MicroTechnology, a block down from Super Baru on the InterAmerican Highway.
The two ladies that run the salon are Kenia Rios and Doris Sanchez, both formally with Enma’s Salon.

I wanted to do something special for Valentines Day this year. Perfume, clothes, jewelry and so forth are too easy. This year I wanted a real surprise. Something that my special someone would not expect.
I started planning about three weeks ago. When I did my massage research in 2008, I met Kalizol who owns and operates MovilSpa. She has a unique operation. Besides providing massages at her work location, she also will go to a location and do spa parties. She does it up right. It is not just a massage, it is an experience.
With that as the base for my plan, I only needed a nice setting. Since it had to be setup ahead of time and I wanted it to be a secret, I thought of the Best Western Hotel. I went to Best Western and talked to Susan and asked if they would permit Kalizol to decorate a room for a surprise gift for Valentine’s Day.
She agreed. I told her that my plan would be to come for an early evening dinner and asked if she would come by the table before we left and tell us that she wanted to show us a new item that they had added to the rooms. Since I have been there and take photos before, I knew this would sound legitimate and Lilliam would have no idea of anything going on. I am a little late in making this post. There is a new massage therapist in David. She had been working in Panama City, but Panama City finally became too much for her.
She has her own massage table and is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. She charges $20 for an hour and gives as good a massage as the better locations in my massage post and is cheaper.
The last time she came here, we had it set up so she could give three massages. I Told Regina that I would let you know that she is now in David. You can reach her at 774-9266 or 6560-5094. Be prepared to speak in Spanish or have someone else set up your appointment.
One of the luxuries, that I used to enjoy in the US, was a massage. When you spent a lot of time on an airplane, or in front of a computer, or in a lot of stress-filled meetings, there was nothing like a relaxing massage. The massages I used to get ran from $55 to $70 dollars an hour in the US. I have no idea of the current rates.
I am no longer in that stress-filled corporate environment, however, I do spend a fair amount of time in front of a computer screen. Too much some people tell me. Not too long ago, I wondered why I wasn’t getting massages here in David. I like them. They tend to brighten my spirits and I enjoy the aromas that typically are wafting through the air. I remembered having one massage about four years ago at the Centro Médico Cattín.
I remembered the massage therapist as being competent and the price was very reasonable ($25), so I wondered why I hadn’t been back. So several weeks back, I went in and set up an appointment. The price hadn’t changed. The massage area was equipped with exercise equipment including exercise bike and treadmill. It also included a sauna and shower. For $25 you bought two hours with half of the time allocated for a massage. The clinic has a list of therapists, so you set your appointment and they schedule a therapist. What could be better?
