There has been a growing interest in jazz among Valley of the Moon residents over the last 10 years. It’s common to see jazz bands playing for diverse private events such as weddings and business gatherings in our area. Chiriqui province is fortunate to have many exceptional local musicians worthy of recognition and a platform upon which to share their skills and talents. For this reason, the initiative to organize a jazz festival in the provincial capital of David has emerged. On behalf of Culturama International and Casa Cultural La Guaricha, I’d like to invite you to take part in the realization of David’s first annual jazz festival. We are designating the event the Peligro Jazz Festival in honor of the city’s oldest barrio and the renovation process this historic sector is undergoing.
The Peligro Jazz Festival is intended to stimulate greater interest in jazz by showcasing local and national talent. We are hoping to develop the event through encouraging personal social responsibility amongst residents of our area. The concept is nothing more than asking citizens to support the event. By asking citizens to support this cause, we can make it happen. The event will be financed through purchases of T-shirts, small donations, and attendance at the festival activities. You will have multiple options for participation and we hope to count you among the festival’s patrons. Continue reading Peligro Jazz Festival – Jazz in David, Chiriqui

Their wonderful omelets are priced at $4.50 just for us. They are also featuring pancakes and eggs combo at a discount as well!!! Lunch menu will feature items too! Will add those in our next announcement.
Our first speaker will be Mr. Mark Evans.
Mark is a financial expert that will explain the difference between
hard default and soft default with respect to pensions and debt. In the last two years many greedy and insolvent governments have stolen pension dollars from your families pockets and spent them on government operating expenses. This is not very well understood and people get very panicky and shrill when a country seizes pensions. Might your pension or IRA be in jeopardy?? Will this affect Social Security in any way? Greetings to Everyone:
This month we have two speakers that will offer unique perspectives for both beautiful and successful living in Panama.
Our first speaker, Mr. Gary Pitts will be offering all of us a very unique opportunity to soar like an eagle and see everything from a very different perspective! Gary is 70 years old and a 30 year resident of Central America. He will give us all the chance to put some excitement and adventure into our retirement years. Gary will be sharing a slide show presentation on an exciting hobby —
Ultralight Flying for Fun, Sport, Hobby and Transportation.
An Ultralight is a small plane that seats one or two people, costs little more than a car and requires an easy to get license.
Gary will cover the thrill of the sport, getting started, clubs here in Panama, how to decide if it is for you, maintaining your hobby, real and imagined hazards — and it is much safer than you think.
Come to the meeting, check it out and experience excitement in Paradise.
Our second speaker, Julio Espinosa Brown, a lawyer from Boquete and Lee Zeltzer, who is working with him, will come to explain Panamanian Corporations and Foundations. This will be given in an easy to understand format. They will teach us what the purpose of the Foundation and Corporation is, a basic understanding of how they both work, what is different about them, how recent legal changes on bearer shares might affect you, and the many benefits you will receive by having one, such as,your property, banking, taxes and other investments being properly set up and secure.
Come and order a good breakfast or lunch from the tasty cuisine at Mana’s.
