Saturday, Lilliam and I took Koki to Happy Pet to be bathed and groomed. Around the corner from Happy Pet is Tops – Stylo & Sabor.
I have watched the business being prepared and have wanted to visit it and thought now would be a good time.
It is a unique combination of an eatery and women’s clothing. The clothes were all high quality and reasonably priced. Many of the items are one of a kind. I took several photos of the women’s clothing area.
Lilliam was interested in the clothes and I was more interested in the other side of the business. I know you won’t be surprised by that. Here is a current menu, but it is already out of date, because they are continuing to add items. Everything that is served is healthy.
Among my favorites is the Gyro! I had been reading about a new gyro place in Boquete and was almost ready to drive to Boquete to try one.
Now, lucky for me, I don’t have to go to Boquete. I have great gyros very close to me! This may become my favorite sandwich place!
It was close to lunch so Lilliam and I split a gyro. The photo will look a smaller than expected because it is my half. For me, the most important thing about a gyro is how good the sauce is. A good gyro sauce is yogurt based. This sauce is fantastic.
A new thing for me was that it contains a potato wedge. Apparently this is often found in Greece and other european countries. You can get it with and without the potato wedge.
One of Lilliam’s favorite things is hummus. They graciously gave us a sample of the humus with ground beef. It was also fantastic. This may also move Tops to the top of Lilliam’s “where I want to go to eat” places.
And of course, to end the meal, you can get frozen yogurt. Who can resist one of those.
You can also have wine and sangria. They are preparing for other cocktails and have equipment for beer on tap. They are evaluating some of the local brewers as well.
Here are the photos I took related to the food section.
Now this isn’t all. I also learned that there is a new system entering Panama called Weeconomy. The business has a POS station and when you make purchases, Wee members will have their purchase recorded and you will gain a financial credit.
I put the WeeApp on my phone and my food purchases showed that 2 1/2 % of the bill was credited to my account.
Here is the lovely Ana with the Wee POS in front of her. I also took a closeup of the POS.
The system looks like it originated in Germany and is spreading around the world. When you go through the Weeconomy website, you will find many areas that are still not being displayed in the viewers language, but in German.
If you haven’t downloaded the app, you can still join by clicking on the following URL. http://www.weeconomy.com/7777000103065299
As a disclosure, anyone that sign’s up by scanning the image or by the URL link above, will enable me to gain a higher percentage from my purchases.
When you fill out the form, the address is optional except for the country, postcode, and zip code. If you are using Panama, enter 00000 for the postcode.
When you look at the map, you will see that this is just starting to hit in Panama. Many businesses are scheduled and several already have their POS stations.
I wonder if Apple Pay will make it to Panama.
Here is a Google map for Tops. If you stop in, tell them you read about them on Chiriquí Chatter.
