Cable Onda Needs Network Engineers

Last night’s tests gave me hope that CO was correcting their problems.

This morning I see that things are back to normal. I am convinced that the problem exists in the David office. Pure incompetence is about the only explanation.

While the following traceroutes are not complete, they indicate to me that there is a problem and it is within the CO network. IMHO.

  1. What you are experiencing is over-sold bandwidth. Cable Onda has only so many discrete addresses that can be handled via cable throughput. Depending on the time of day you measure your own IP address performance, response times will continue to vary, but clearly the D-F grades indicate overtaxed cable lines. Either they expand their cable services, or reduce their customer demand. Does not matter whether you have 2G, 3G, or 4G claimed speed if Onda is pushing a camel through the eye of a needle.
