We have this hanging plant out back. if you notice the dark area in the lower left of the plant, it is a small bird nest. It is probably no larger than two inches inside. It looks very fragile.
We watched two birds build it over two days. Then there were two eggs. I didn’t get a photo of the eggs.
When the mother bird was in the nest, she was almost hidden. Yesterday, I decide to go take some photos since we had seen the mother bird feeding the young ones.
While I was around the nest, the mother bird was very upset and flying all around. Here she is in the cactus tree next to the hanging plant.
Then she flew out to watch from a more remote point.
Here is a closeup of the the nest. You can see one of the birds has its mouth open ready to eat.
