If two people love each other, nothing is impossible… Except deciding where to eat.
I received the following from the Potrerillos Neighborhood Watch Facilitator.
Potrerillos is experiencing a dramatic increase in burglaries and other criminal activities. There have been 5 residential burglaries including a report of chickens stolen from a home in Potrerillos and 2 DUI arrests all in the last 8 days. There was also a costly burglary reported near Dolega Township.
On the date of 23-AUG-2012 a home owned by an American in Potrerillos Arriba was burglarized some time during the hours of darkness. The incident occurred when unknown individuals cut their way through the window bars to gain entry (attached photo) near the front door of the home causing moderate damage. The Local Police were notified who quickly responded to the scene and started a formal investigation.
The home owners who were out of the area at the time of the incident were notified by a neighbor who contacted them. Information provided indicates that the perpetrators ransacked the entire house before ripped off several items of unspecified property from the victim home. Closed !!!!! Reopened and new Post HERE.
The other day, I ate at the new Mar Caspio Café, in David, not once but twice. A friend and I tried it out for lunch and then joined another friend for dinner.
The restaurant is located on Via Boquete and a Google map can be found HERE.
Watch for the following sign.
Here is a photo of the outside of the restaurant. It has a large parking area and an area for outside seating. Continue reading Mar Caspio Cafe
Pushed too hard against my eardrum with a Q-tip and reset my brain.
I have many things that I want to post and am running behind. I thought I would just give you a short snippet of what needs to be written and posted.
I visited a store called Selectra in David about a month or so ago. Very nice store for people needing window coverings and other items. Lots of photos.
I attended an inauguration of Capital Bank on Thursday with members of the news media and attended a follow on event in Hotel Ciudad de David. Lots of photos. I am very impressed with the bank, its charter and the officials I met.
Yesterday, I went to a new restaurant in David, Mar Caspio Café, not once but twice in one day. This may very well be the best dining experience in all of Chiriquí. I have lots of photos and the menu to share. Just need time to post it.
I am also helping a friend migrate over to the Mac environment. He already has an iPad and is getting a Mac Book Pro. Some of the experiences in the migration may be of interest.
He is a perfect example of the confusion that Samsung and Google put in the marketplace. He purchased a book on the iPhone and said he was having problems relating it to his iPhone. That was because he had a Samsung! He could have been an example used in the Samsung/Apple trial that was just ruled in Apple’s favor.
Two places are opening up in David with safety deposit boxes, one is Capital Bank and the other is Nacional Box. As I mentioned, I will discuss Capital Bank, and will be checking on Nacional Box.
I don’t know if I am slowing down or just getting lazy. Maybe a little of both. Maybe I need to go to bed later and get up earlier. Naw! That can’t be the solution
I do all my own stunts, but never intentionally.
I don’t have a problem with willpower. It’s won’t power I have a problem with.
There was a tremendous electrical storm in David yesterday afternoon. The thunder was as loud as I have ever heard and lightening lit up the entire area. One big blast was about a block away and it must have taken out a transformer.
My UPS started going crazy. It kept my telephone and Internet active for about 30 minutes.
This was about 4:00PM. At about 6PM I decided maybe I should go buy some candles. It is pitch black here without lights. Koki was scared to death. She didn’t know what all the noise was and wanted to become a lap dog. I accommodated her.
Luckily, the power came back around 8:30PM. As an Internet addict, I was happy that my iPhone had a full charge and I was always connected.
Today looks like it is going to be a great day.
It is also going to be a busy day. I am going to have lunch with a friend I haven’t seen since she moved to Panama City. I have been invited to a news conference for a new bank that is opening and a following inauguration reception. That happens this afternoon. Chiriquí Chatter joins the press corp.
I never pass up free food, and it will be good practice for my Spanish. 😉
