Mario Calvit a Maestro of the Fine Arts for first time in Chiriqui

Born in Nicaragua on January 29, 1933. From the age of 12 residing in Panama.Study elementary school in Anton, Cocle and High School at the Instituto Nacional in Panama city. He studied at the National Arts School and made additional courses within and outside the country to strengthen their skills as a sculptor and engraver. He has made dozens of solo and group exhibitions. His works have been exhibited in Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Cuba and the United States. He has illustrated books, plays, poetry and children’s books.

Come to Casa Cultural La Guaricha, former Mana restaurant in David, near to Colegio Felix Olivares and Java Juice.
To see his exposition, for first time in Chiriqui, you can see his artwork. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. until June 30th.

This Tuesday 14th you can visit the exhibition at 7:00p.m. in an event call Music, Thoughts and Calvit where you can enjoy his work and express in piece of paper your thoughts of his work. This is a free event, we will have some drinks to sell a reasonable prices.

Waiting for “Superman” is a 2010 documentary film from director Davis Guggenheim and producer Lesley Chilcott. The film analyzes the failures of American public education by following several students through the educational system, hoping to be selected in a lottery for acceptance into charter schools. The film’s title is based on an interview with Geoffrey Canada who said he has waited for a “Superman” type hero or revelation to improve the American education system.

The film received the Audience Award for best documentary at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.The film also received the Best Documentary Feature at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
