Royal Caribbean Cruise April 24, 2011 Part Seven – Tenerife

Our third port and the first after spending six days in the Atlantic was Tenerife. It is the largest of the Canary Islands.

Since we were going to spend two days in Palma De Mallorca, we decided just to take a walking excursion around a part of the city to get an idea of what it was like.

This is the first photo I took in Tenerife. Do you notice anything unusual about it?

A Call For Assistance

I am making a personal request for financial help for a David Panamanian family. Specifically this is to assist two daughters whose mother had a heart attack in April. The mother has been in the Regional Hospital since that time.

The mother is suffering paralysis and is being fed intravenously (Parenteral nutrition) because she is in a comatose state.

It has come to the point where she must be released from the Regional Hospital to free up space and the family must begin caring for her for in the home. This move to the home is currently scheduled for the first of July.

Her social security covers much of the medical expenses, but there are other expenses that must be paid. The family is having to pay for a private attendant (at night) while the patient is in the hospital. When the patient goes home, one daughter will provide the medical care-taking.

Her room in the house will need to have an air-conditioner and will need to be equipped for the use of oxygen. There will be many other miscellaneous expenses such as medical cleaning gauze, adult diapers, an increased electrical bill because of the AC and others.

The family needed a special medical bed and that has been arranged.

My friend,Tom McCormack is bringing a suction device from the US.

Your donation would be a great kindness for a needy family undergoing much emotional pain as well as financial hardship.

If you can make any donation, it would be greatly appreciated. If you live in Panama, a donation may be made to the daughter’s account as follows:

Banco General

If you are one of the Chiriquí Chatter followers living outside of Panama and would like to make a donation via PayPal, I can provide you the information for my PayPal account and I will make a corresponding deposit in the Banco General Account and email you a receipt.

Thank you for your consideration. If you are unable to contribute, all prayers are accepted.

Ozzie is in custody

From Boquete Ning.

Ozzie was taken into custody in front of Las Ruinas restaurant tonight.
A sting operation to catch Frederick Allen Osburn was set up by myself, with the cooperation of Panamanian law enforcement authorities and Alto al Crimen, after Ozzie hit one of the homes in Los Molinos for which my company is contracted to provide security for. After burglarizing the home in the beginning of June the perpetrator emailed the owner of the house stating that he/she would like to sell back specific items of both monetary and emotional value to the victim. The victims email address was obtained in the course of the burglary. With the victim’s permission I pretended to be the the son of the victim and proceeded to have a three week email dialog with the perpetrator whom I suspected to be Frederick Allen Osburn. Ozzie emailed me this afternoon with specific instructions as to where we were to meet to do the exchange with him giving me specific instructions to be at the “my mothers” house when he called the cell phone number I provided him..
This information was provided to the Pananian Police and they assembled a team of a dozen officers from both Boquete and David to assist in capturing Ozzie. I was to radio them from Los Molinos when Ozzie called but we all suspected that Ozzie was going to watch me arrive at house to make sure I was alone. The police were waiting at Las Ruinas restaurant for my command where they would either cover me at the location Ozzie instructed me to go or to create a perimeter around the Los Molinos project if the exchange was to take place there. After Ozzie never called at the agreed to time I suspected he got spooked and that he was probably on the main road trying to catch a ride out of the area. I radioed the team at Las Ruinas to go out and start looking for him and long and behold Ozzie was standing in front of Las Ruinas waiting to catch a bus when the officers came out and he was immediately taken into custody.
In his possession were many items from numerous reported burglaries including a loaded 9MM handgun, all the items stolen from Los molinos, as well as a pocketbook with numerous items including cash, passports, and credit cards from a home he burglarized at Las Brisas between the time he left Los Molinos and tried to catch a bus in front of Las Ruinas.
Lets hope he doesn’t get out of jail ever again.

Royal Caribbean Cruise April 24, 2011 Part Six – Sunsets Are Awesome

Live is a little like a day on an ocean cruise. There is a beginning and an end. Just like the end of a day on the ocean, some of the most beautiful parts of our lives occur during our sunset.

Many of us move to Panama during our sunset years. I can honestly say that the most beautiful times of my life are happening now.

Remember sunsets are awesome. Let me share some of the sunsets I witnessed on the cruise.
