Well, let me just start off this post by saying I am PISSED!!!!!!!!!!
I just got off the phone from talking to Michael D. with The Berkley Group to exercise the insurance I had purchased on Natalie’s trip with Lilliam and I on the RCCL cruise. The Berkley Group is the agency that RCCL uses for their travel insurance. Talking to Michael was like talking to a robot, but I imagine they are programmed that way because of all the irate calls they wind up receiving.
When I booked Natalie, I did it directly through RCCL. No travel agent, direct to the company itself. I told the individual that there was a chance that Natalie might not get to go and asked for suggestions. I was told that if I purchased Cruise Care for $59 dollars, I would be covered against loss. With that I bought Natalie’s ticket. Had they told me the truth, I would have waited until now to have tried to buy her ticket.
On a previous post, I mentioned that getting started on the claim was difficult. I didn’t realize how difficult until a few moments ago. The RCCL website has very little help I guess because they could care less if they have your money. I now consider the entire cruise insurance of RCCL to be a sham. I was definitely mislead and because of that I bought Natalie’s ticket.
I am waiting for an email that is going to be sent within the next 72 hours. Claim forms will be sent out at the same time. You are then required to fill out the forms and Michael said it would be approximately six weeks until they approved or denied the claim. He also said that he thought my claim would be denied.
Did I mention I am PISSED!!!!!!!
