A new restaurant has opened up in David called Da-Li. I met the owner Steve who had an interesting accent. I asked where he was from and he said Ireland. I ask how he happened to choose Panama and he said he got on the wrong plane. Well, it was funny to me. Maybe you had to be there.
Anyway, he specializes in coffee, sandwiches, salads, desserts, and other items. It is a friendly place and happily decorated. It is on the road going to the airport, just a couple blocks past the police compound and on the same side of the street. It is across from the building marked Super Replicas.
Here is a flier that I picked up at the airport.
Here is some of the art work that is for sale. Steve said it was from a Colombian artist.
The seating is in a pretty patio that is friendly. As you can tell from the laptop in the table, wifi is available. Steve also hosts events and dancing classes in Tango, Salsa and belly dancing. If anyone goes to the belly dancing classes take photos. I may have to go for that. 🙂
These two charming young ladies will take your order and serve you. Shoot it may be worth the trip just to see these smiling faces.
I didn’t have time to sample a sandwich or frappe, but I will make it back one day. Da-Li is open Monday through Saturday from 8AM until 8PM. If you drop in, tell them you heard about them on Chiriquí Chatter.
