Past Posts

Many new readers don’t have the time to go back and wade through all of the old posts to find something of interest. Today, I looked at some of the posts that got a reasonable amount of comments and selected these five to share with those that might have missed them.

The first is To Rambala and Back. This was a trip to a project near Chiriquí Grande being conducted by US.

The second is an old post on Paradise Gardens. This was the first post I did and while it is way out of date and Paradise Gardens is under new management, it should still show you a place in Boquete that is well worth visiting. NOTE: According to a comment that just came in, Paradise Gardens is no longer open to the public.

The third is a visit to the Rancho Gotta Coffee farm. This will show you the full process of making coffee.

The fourth is a trip I made to see the process of making raspadura. The post is called to Paradise and Back.

Lastly is an interesting experience I had at the El Rey supermarket.

While I am reviewing old posts, maybe it it a good time to remind new comers to Panama that the bag boys in all of the supermarkets only work for tips. If you don’t tip, then they go home without money for that day. When the bag boy hands you your couple of bags that you are going to carry to the car, why not give him something and say “Que tenga un buen dia”. I assure you that he will appreciate it.

  1. Ah yes, the “incident” at El Rey! Two years ago and I’m still smiling. 🙂

And thanks for reminding the newbies about tipping the help. I have a few nephews at the supermarkets helping out their families with whatever they make.

  3. According to the Casa Solution website Paradise Gardens is still for sale at $650,000.
This is reduced from 1.5million last year.
