I had heard that a small group of gringos have been having a 9:00 AM breakfast at Restaurant Mana on Saturday, and decided to try it out.
All told, about 14 of us showed up. The special of the day was a breakfast burrito. That is what I ordered. It was a white flour tortilla, filled with eggs and black beans and it hit the spot. I also had a couple of the Barrards breakfast sausages. They were actually pretty good for Panamanian sausage, but still won’t replace the Jones Farm I buy in PriceSmart. I had a hot cup of Rancho Gotta coffee and was ready for the day.
Carol ordered a fruit plate, which came with a strawberry yogurt. It was ample and she was kind enough to share.
Lilliam went for the gallo pinto covered with fried eggs, salsa and a little sour cream.
I had a good time meeting a few people in person that I know through this blog. It was a Saturday morning well spent and I know it was nice to not have to do the cooking for several in attendance.
Jorge and Vicky are such wonderful hosts, that it was like having breakfast with family. Come to think of it, it was breakfast with family.
