David Suzuki Dealership Closed

Posted by Don Ray on Feb 07 2010 at 07:50 am

I was on my morning walk and noticed that the Suzuki dealership has closed. This is one of the obstacles that car buyers have in Panama. You can buy a car and a week later there is no dealer. Last year the Mazda, Jeep and Chrysler dealership closed in David.

When I moved to Panama in 2003, the dealership that serviced Isuzu had closed and I talked to many people who were having problems getting parts for their cars.

Auto Servicios de Chiriquí is still there but it appears that the tie with Suzuki is finished. I assume that Suzuki is still in Panama City. If you learn that the dealership has moved in David, leave a comment.

Hi Ellen. I am kinda pulling for the Saints, but I expect this to be a pretty good game. If it is a good enough game I don’t care who wins.

    Don Ray:
Mitsubishi is gone from Fresno, CA and Hummer is barely visible. So the problem is larger. Now, the US Goverment is in the car bussiness now, remember they own GMC (I believe)
    Jaime^

Hi Jaime. I hear you. Maybe bicycles will start getting more popular in the US as they are in Latin America.

I bought a Chinese van from Groupo Q last year just before they closed their David operation. So far, I have not had any problems so, I don’t know if their are any ser vice issues.

I use a bicycle for short trips around the neighborhood. I am thinking of puttin an electric motor on it.

Makes me glad I bought a Toyota.
But there again, who knows if Ricardo Perez will close up?
    I don’t think so.

  7. Don Ray says:

Hi Ray. The only problem with any of the cars is if you need a part and th part is not available. Dome things can be driven with some needed repairs and some can’t.

Hi Mike. I doubt if Ricardo Perez, will be gone. I am not happy with the way they treated me on my last maintenance. I will not go back there.

  8. Lilia says:

Hi Don: I heard that it is going to be Felipe Rodríguez in David.
    Lilia

  9. Don Ray says:

Hi Lilia. Felipe Rodriguez is going to be the dealer or it is going to offer authorized service for Suzuki cars?

  10. Terry says:

funny…, your heading caught my eye, because “David Suzuki” has a different meaning to us Canadians.., (see davidsuzuki.org) and you can watch past shows of his CBC series, the Nature of Things, on cbc.ca He did a piece a while ago on Bocas del Toro.

  11. Ricky M. says:

Hi, Don, if someone treated you bad, yo shoukd make a complain directly to Ricardo Perez CEO Office, for sure they are going to do somethig right away, because Ricardo Perez its a very serious and remarkable company for many many years and that employee that treated you bad, they have to remove or fire him immediately for sure.
I do not understand WHY CHIRICANS PERSON STILL DOING TE SAME THING, WE NEED QUALIFY PERSON TO ATTEND BUSINESS ????
