I received the following for posting:
The monthly Cerro Punta/Volcan Town Meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at our venue, Restaurante Polineth ( Paul’s) in Volcan on the road to Cerra Punta approximately 1/2 mile from the police station. In our meetings at this venue, Paul serves up many signature dishes for our palates. This month, Paul is featuring two new dishes, Passion Fruit Ginger Candied Chicken Wings, which Paul describes as “unbelievable,” and a Sweet n’ Sour Chicken plate. The meeting will begin at 10:00 AM with discussion following the presentation. For your calendar, Town Meetings are always held on the second Wednesday of the month.
Last month, we had Ms. Jessie Mendez from St. George Bank, and also covered many items of interest in regard to banking and recent bank regulations initiated here in Panama.
This month we feature Dr. Fausto Abril, a Chinese Medical Practitioner and Acupuncturist. Dr. Abril and his wife, Dr. Mayula Abril, also a Chinese Medical Doctor, will talk about the health benefits of Chinese traditional medicine and the science of acupuncture. Dr. Mayula will introduce us to “tuina,” a Chinese clinical massage now trending in spas and clinics. Dr. Fausto will discuss the 5,000 year old art of Chinese medicine with its use of herbal remedies, acupuncture, electrical acupuncture, and “Cupping,” a unique application of medical healing. This should be an engaging discussion about Chinese folk and natural medicine and particularly of interest in these times of very high and spiraling health costs in the United States in finding adequate and alternate therapies and treatments for our Ex-Pat community that will maintain and enhance our health and well being. Both doctors were educated in Universities in the United States in post-graduate degrees and then went on to China to further their studies in specializing in Chinese Medicine.
We also will feature Mr. Stuart Kime, who is a retired motivational speaker. He will discuss cardiovascular exercise and its benefits to the immune system in bringing oxygen to the body’s cells.
We encourage you to attend this meeting with these knowledgeable and informative individuals and participate in the audience discussion afterwards, which is always informative and stimulating. Your sharing and participation, again, makes for the success of these meetings to the overall benefit of our ex-pat community in Volcan and Panama. Invite your friends and stay for lunch and enjoy Paul’s varied and tasty cuisine. We hope to see you on Wednesday, February 10th , 2010 and look forward to your participation as we believe that these presentations will be stimulating and thought provoking.
