CONWAY David Opens
A 11:00 AM Conway was scheduled to open their doors. I arrived 15 minutes early and the parking lots were already full.
People were waiting to the right of the door.

People were waiting to the left of the door.

The media was there taking videos of those waiting and they filmed the first to enter. I took photos of those taking photos/videos.

At 11:00 sharp, the doors opened. I had taken about three photos when I was approached by Yoram Litvin, the Director of Conway. He welcomed me to the store and spoke perfect English. We exchanged cards. I noticed that the top of his card says TARGET, S. A. I hadn’t realized that Conway was affiliated with Target. He was extremely gracious and I appreciated that he took the time to visit with me.
I have a lot of photos. I will take you through a photo tour of this excellent addition to David businesses. Besides being a great store, it is providing work for a lot of Panamanians. Congratulations to Chiriquí and to David.
This first photo was taken as I just entered to my left.

The next two photos will give you a feel of the immenseness of this store.

Everyone was in the swing of shopping quickly.

All women love purses and there are plenty.

The display tables were filled with potential Christmas gifts and there were signs everywhere showing that there was a 10% inauguration discount.

There is something for everyone here.

Next to purses, women love shoes. Dra. Inés, at Vision 20/20, has told me many times that she misses a place to buy shoes. She should be happy.

Here is an attractive sales lady in the ladies cosmetic section. If you see her, tell you you recognize her from Chiriquí Chatter.

Here is another in a clothing area.

Here are some more photos from the first floor.

OK. Lets go to the second floor.

In the back corner is mens shoes.

Here is more men attire.

Then we move to children clothes.

Lots of children furniture and to the tight of that, plenty children’s games and toys.

Now lets go to the third floor.

This is the floor to fill your house. There is a lot of furniture and decorations.

This shot give you a feel for the depth of the store.

Now e are in the housewares section.

They had some very nice glass pieces.

I really likes some of the wall decorations
.

How about these globes?

Here are some floor pieces.

CONWAY = Christmas.

There were several attractive water fountain statuary pieces.
I liked the design of the store and the attractive decorations. Here is a photo of how some of the ceilings are lighted.

That may be more photos than you needed to see, but I couldn’t think of a better way to give you a feel for the store. I think you can easily take an hour on each floor to see everything.
Mr. Litvin, thank you for allowing me to present your beautiful store to the world. Many people that are considering moving to Panama and especially Chiriquí now know the time you have spent and can see the quality you are providing to Panama’s residents and all visitors that come to this area.

WOW, Don Ray!! What a store! I guess you got a small sampling of “Black Friday” after all? haha
I love the ceiling lighting effect, too. Great photos, as always.

Being a conservative person, I was able to keep my purchases to an appropriate level. It is a very nice store and will pull more business to the plaza.
Don Ray:
WOOOW! Very impressive store, look like a department store in US, something like Sears, not as good as JC Penney or Macys, but better looking than Target, K-MArt or Wlamart.

Hi Jaime. It is very nice indeed.
I asked Rosa (Panamanian wife) what she would buy there. She said, “Oh…they have nice furniture.” Mr. Litvin…thanks for letting Don Ray take pictures…we’ll buy some furniture when we move to David next year. Rather than retire, I might have to go back to work to pay for Rosa’s purchases
Don,
I was thrilled to see that Conway is finally built and open. I’m getting back to my place in Boquete in 4 weeks and can’t wait to go shopping in David again. Thanks for taking all the great photos. I feel like I already know my way around and have a clear idea where I’ll head. (furniture and shoes) This store will be a great addition to the city. — TARGET, huh? Who’d have thunk…The Conway in Allbrook is much nicer than the TARGET stores I’ve been in..
Hi TOC, Yes, CONWAY is a great addition. It will be ready for you when you get here.
Don:
I visited Conway today with my wife. I was very impressed with the store and the many departments. The children’s clothing section was hugh. I have never seen a department this big in any store in the U.S.. They had all the good name brands i.e. Osh Kosh, Carter’s etc.. and great prices. I bought some real nice quality polo shirts for $9.00 each with the discount they were giving today. The houseware department was spectacular as well as the bed & linen department. They had the highest quality sheets (1000 thread count) on sale. It is an amazing store and what a nice gift to the people of Chiriqui. It is so nice to have upscale stores such as Conway and Arrocha here in our neck of the woods.
ciao
Hi Dennis. It sure is a nice store for Chiriqui,
Hello everyone i like to read your blog, it is very informative even for panamenian people. I visited the store yesterday and yes you were completely right! The store is great and amazing, actually awesome for the stores we have here in Panama! I encourage people to go shopping there!
Enjoy!
Hi Darissa. Thanks for dropping into Chiriqui Chatter and taking the time to leave a comment.
Hello Don,
The store is really nice, much better than any Target. They are 100% panamanian own. They have nothing to do with TARGET USA thats just the name of the “sociendad Anonima” they used in Panama. TARGET S.A. (legal name) = CONWAY STORES (Commercial name).
Mike
Hi Mike. Thanks for that clarification. That makes sense.
Hi Don, Thanks for the nice photos, this Conway Store looks just SUPER. You are doing a great service with your blog, keep up the work.
