OpenSUSE 11.2 November 12
openSUSE will release version 11.2 on November 12. Linux users, who are KDE advocates, should take a look at openSUSE. While UBUNTU get most of the press, if you like KDE, KUBUNTU usually isn’t as good an implementation.
Most people still think that Linux is only for geeks and to some extent, many versions are. However, Linux has made great strides in the last few years. I will download and test it as soon as it hits the Internet.
I am currently working on a project with Antonio Singh to provide some older PCs running the Linux to some that currently don’t have access to the Internet. There are still some Linux systems that can run in a very limited environment and I am going to try a couple and see if I can find one that will satisfy Antonio’s needs.
OpenSUSE 11.2 definitely won’t run on Antonio’s PCs. I am going to try Tiny Core and Puppy Linux.
These PCs will be Pentium IIs with only 64K of memory, so if you have some other suggestions on other Linux systems that will run in a small memory environment, let me know. I want to get something that runs reasonably well.

Hi Don Ray,
Give Damn Small Linux a look. I had it running very well on a P5-100 with 96 MB. Also take a peek at Feather, though if memory serves, it needs 128K. I also have a bag of older memory that worked when pulled, but no guarantees now. Let me know what type of memory you need and I will see if I have it and send it to you if I do.

OK Henry. I will download them as well too. Thanks.
