Break-in In Broad Daylight
For some time I have had a feeling that the privacy of my house was being invaded. Every once in a while I would see something that told me that others, that didn’t live here, had entered and left.
Yesterday, I caught one of the offenders in the act and before he left, I got a photo to document his being here.
Following is the guilty party’s image captured in living color.
It amazes me that this bird an others have been entering the house to eat my bananas. I finally have moved the bananas all the way into the living room, which meant that the bird had to fly in and search to find them.
He did a job on this banana and this is just one of many that they have fed on inside the house.

Maybe the economy is affecting the birds as well. I took the damaged banana and put it out on the balcony and it was completely eaten by sunset.

HA, Ha! You got me again! I should’ve known better. Nice bananas.

I have to do something to entertain my self.
Think yourself lucky. We have had to share our pool with the following:
A Coral snake – 14 inches long.
A tarantula in the skimmer – 3 inch leg span.
A black spider – 4 3/4 inch leg span.
Several iguanas – varied lengths.
Yellow birds that use the trees as diving boards and swoop down either to cool off or drink the water.
Several field mice that, once in, can’t get out.
Beetles and other assorted critters of various flavors and sizes.
It’s a full time job evicting them………
Why evict them? Adopt them.
How’s this one? I keep my organic peelings etc. in a tupperware container on the kitchen counter. I opened it up to add to it and there was a small scorpion! I still can’t figure out just how he got in there and when!
Hmmm. I prefer my birds.
Reading the first post, you scared the hell out of me and I felt sorry for you until I read the rest. These birds really can find anything, anywhere. The birds eat more bananas than we do. They are ”
friendly here.
Hi Charlotte. The devil made me do it.
I notice that there are screens on your windows, how the heck did the little guy get inside?
The back door to the balcony was open.
Well ok then, he thought is was all ok and that you wanted him to help himself to your bananas!
That must be a fact.
We hang our dryer lint on the bars off our patio with a clothespin and every AM a Hummingbird takes a bunch. I guess he/she is building a nest. It has also been in our house 3X but didn’t sleep here, just passed through.
If they are using dryer lint, it is obviously a very high class nest. Better than twigs and grass.
