Friday Is For Mexican Food

Now there is another Mexican food restaurant in David to provide you more choices.

Last Sunday, I tried to go to Taquiria Jalisco after church. Unfortunately for me it opens at 1:00 PM on Sundays and my stomach told me I needed to postpone my Mexican food gratification.

I now know the hours.
Sunday: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday – Friday: 6:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Saturday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

When you walk in you know you are greeted with a large seating area in the front.

We chose to sit in the second large area in the back.

When we arrived, shortly after 6:00 PM, there were only a few tables filled. When we left, there only a few tables empty. Obviously, the word has gotten around about the restaurant.

Here is a copy of the menu.

A couple of us started off with a frozen margarita. At $2.50, it was a bargain and was high quality.

One person ordered tacos, and gave it two thumbs up.

I ordered the Platos Principales. I thought it could serve as a sampler plate and I could try several things. I enjoyed it very much.

Sofia has an order of mini tacos. She did a good job eating all but two.

Two people shared an order of carnitas and they also said they were very good. Not shown was a basket of tortillas.

This new Mexican restaurant is off to a good start. I will definitely go there often.

To get there, from the InterAmerican Highway, take the road to Boquete. Before you get to the Mosque, you will see Taquiria Jalisco on your left. If coming from Boquete, it will be on your right, not far after you pass the Mosque on your left.

If you stop in, tell them you learned about them on Chiriquí Chatter.

  2. Hi Mike. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. It is a tough job trying out all of the restaurants, but somebody has to do it. 🙂

  3. Hi there: While in David for the past few weeks I tried a very small restaurant, close to el Mercadito Publico, and next to Dragon de oro, the lady cooks comida criolla, she is personally know to our family but for such of small place food is good and inexpensive. Just typical food and varies day to day.
Next time I am there I’ll try the taqueria since my husband likes mexican food!!!

  4. Did you know where el Rancherito is? Between calle 3ra y calle 4ta, if you make the right by the traffic light towards the pikera, and other right shortly after you will be going down El dragon de oro which is a bar, but next to it is this tiny little place, Estela is know to us, and when she told us she had a little fonda; we remember her home cooking and thought we have to try the food, no dissapointment, but like I said It is comida criolla. Hope this help!!!
