BOHMFALKS Parrillada y Marisqueria BAR

Today, we went to BOHMFALKS for lunch. It is located in the building that was Bernard’s Restaurant, down the street from Dolegita Romero’s next to the soon to be opened “Hotel Los Rivera”.

I understand that Bernard’s is still open at the airport.

This is a photo of the outside of the bar/restaurant.

The street menu is shown next. It describes BOHMFALKS as an American Bar : Restaurant.

The menu inside contained a little more information.

The inside of the restaurant was nice and clean, but non air-conditioned.

We ordered two of the pork sandwiches with salad. One is pictured below.

It had ample meat and the barbeque sauce on it was good. Over all I thought it was a very good sandwich. The coleslaw salad was not to my liking. When I have coleslaw, I like it with a little sweeter taste. Both coleslaws were left basically uneaten.

I ordered one Spaghetti with Garlic bread to go. When the person opened it in the apartment, it was missing the garlic bread. However, the person that ate it said it was alright. Not as good as Renegados, but alright.

My impression is this is aimed at being a sports bar even though it only had two TVs. It had a motorcycle race going and considering that we were the only couple in there, I thought it was way too loud. I am sure they would have turned it down if I had asked.

I think it is aiming at the evening business and I would think at that time of day, it will too loud for my tastes, but then I am not a Sports Bar type of person.

If you like sports bars and hanker for something as close to a pulled pork barbecue sandwich as you can find in Chiriquí, you might want to try BOHMFALKS. I assume that will be a regular menu item.

I can now say, I have been there and done that.

You were lucky! You actually found food items that were available. After my afternoon foray yesterday afternoon where they offered one item, I returned yesterday night at 9:00 PM to see if things had improved. The entire crowd was Panamanian with not an American in sight and the outdoor menu still contained the one Fried Chicken choice. One thing I did learn from the volume set on the TV’s was that you don’t have to be in a supersonic jet to break through the sound barrier.

Hi Lenny. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. A gringo hangout usually cause me to give a restaurant a few demerits. Gringo only spots usually charge gringo prices.

This doesn’t appear to be a restaurant I would think about going to in the evening.

    Hi Don Ray,
I (we) like our cole slaw a little sweeter as well. For take out we get our chicken from Popeyes and our cole slaw from KFC. But I also take me a packet of Spenda along to sweeten other cole slaws. Not the whole packet, just enough.

Hi Freddh. Thanks for dropping by Chiriqui Chatter and leaving a comment. If I decide to go back for another sandwich, I just might try your suggestion. ;)
