Make Sure You Read The Comments

Posted by Don Ray on Jul 05 2009 at 08:43 am

Currently, Chiriquí Chatter has 3,346 posts and 13,184 comments. If you discount the daily one-liners, which rarely get comments, that is a reasonably high ratio of posts to comments. Many of the comments have more meat than the original post.

I like to see feedback. While I try to be accurate, I am not always correct, as with yesterday’s post on the $300 limit on my El Rey ATMs. Now it is obvious that others have gotten $500 withdrawals so my assumption of a Clave programming limit has been dispelled.

I made the assumption because two different banks in El Rey refused to grant my $500 request. I thought it unlikely that both ATMs would have such a low amount of money that they both would be restricting the withdrawal, but that may be the case. I am also still waiting on a reply from my credit union verifying that they didn’t revert back to my old limit.

Still, this is a perfect example where reader feedback quickly corrected my assumption of it being a Clave limit. Now lets just hope that Clave doesn’t read Chiriquí Chatter and get any ideas.

It is a beautiful morning here in David. We have had a nice early morning rain and the air is fresh. The birds are chirping and all is well with the world. I hope if you partook in any of the 4th celebrations, you did so safely.

I am getting ready to make a trip to PC to have the recommended eye exam this week. I can’t say that I am looking forward to the exam or the trip. PC always takes a toll on me. Too much noise. Too many cars. Too much pollution. Too…

I am hoping it will be a short trip. I am planning on going up on Wednesday and the return will be based on whatever is called for. I am hoping to return at minimum by Monday the 13th.

    Have a safe trip.

Will be praying that everything will be going well, your eye and the trip. Be sure to take someone who will drive you back home from the Doctor’s clinic. I also have macular degeneration but in my case, the diabetes is the main cause. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to contact me while in Panama City.

Mary and Lilia. Thanks for the good wishes. I am sure everything will go all right. I will let you know what I find out.

Considering you like input, I have a certified letter from the main office of one of my credit cardscompanies indicating thatusinf the card PANAMA will not incure any charges like overseas transactions or any other additional charges as they acknowledge that Panama uses US Dollors. I have observed some chatter about how other lines of credit and there cards are ripping people off. I can recomend this credit card company to anyone who would like to experience it for them self.

Hi GM. Unless your company is giving a credit to match the charge by Clave, I think it will now have a charge. If it is giving a credit, I bet the policy changes soon. My prediction.

Don Ray, you’re too modest. The ratio of comments to posts is really outstanding. You keep things interesting and your readers interested.

Best of luck with your eye exam.

    Thanks Tom.
