Amigos de la Música Coral
I received the following announcement from Antonio Singh pertaining to the Amigos de la Música Coral, which I have heard. They performed in our church and I can’t recommend them high enough. This may be the best $2.00 you will have the opportunity to spend in a long time to come. If you can make it, don’t miss it.
HERE is the post I did, when they performed at out church. I have a few videos that will give you a taste of the up coming event.

Con el Concierto “Amigos de la Música Coral” el Coro Polifónico Universitario A Viva Voz hará un merecido reconocimiento al Maestro Francisco Velásquez, Director del Grupo Orquestal Gatma; Prof. Ovidio Castillo, Director de la Banda Sinfónica de la UNACHI y a Antonio Singh, Promotor Cultural.
Participarán en este concierto músicos invitados como la violonchelista francesa Emilie Rammaert y el Grupo de Cuerdas de la UNACHI que lo integran los estudiantes de la Escuela de Música Juan Carlos Montero (primer violín); Marisol Victoria (Segundo violín); Jorge Farquéz (viola) y la violonchelista invitada Emilie Rammaert.
El Coro creó en el año de 1997, bajo la dirección de la Prof. Wanda Castillo, docente de la Escuela de Música de la UNACHI, está adscrito a la Dirección de Extensión.
Desde sus inicios ha participado en diversos eventos a nivel nacional e internacional, representando a Panamá y a la Universidad en festivales nacionales e internacionales, dejando muy en alto el nombre de nuestro querido Panamá.
Internacionalmente ha visitado en giras culturales los países de Guatemala, Nicaragua y Costa Rica.
En el 2005, el Coro Polifónico se integra como miembro de la FCCC (Federación de Coros de Centroamérica y el Caribe).La cita será el martes 30 de junio de 2009 a las 7:00 p.m. en el Auditorio Universitario Elsa Estela Real de la UNACHI.

This group was just in Volcan last Thurs. evening. When they begin we had no electricity so no mics – they were fantastic. Although there was a small turnout, all of us enjoyed it. People here did not realize what they missed!
I hope they return again soon – Panama should be very proud of this group.
