Let’s see. I could live here in Panama and pay twenty-three cents a gallon more for gas — OR — I could live in the states. Hmmmmm, I think I’ll stay here. I just got back from the dentist, where I got three x-rays and had a cracked crown repaired. All inside of one hour, without waiting! Cost $25, and I go to an expensive dentist. I will put my savings toward gas.
Besides, everything in Panama is so close you don’t use all that much gas. It would be extremely difficult to drive 15,000 a year in Panama and that is all too easy in the US.
Hey Don, You will soon be living better than all of us up here in the Obama nation. A stimilus here and a stimilus there will soon produce real money for someone – not everyone. It is hard to see the pain here in the DC area but I know from my buddies around the nation that there is hurt out there. Sounds like you are doing well. Just wanted to check in. Still too cold to play golf here but soon I hope. Dick
Gas here in Enid, Oklahoma is $1.68 a gallon. High winds, grass fires burned 10,000 acres of pastures out in Western Oklahoma near Ray. It was seen by satellite so was a big fire. Don’t know much except all the prices are down wheat, soybeans, corn, oil.
Can’t produce the crops for the price they are paying right now.
Well so much for the woe and sorrow here in Obama land. Jan
Gas prices (unleaded regular) at the Exxon down the street (about 20 miles east of Dallas) are $1,89/gal today. Stock market also took another hit today. I suspect 2009 will be a tough year for lots of folks & businesses not only in the USA but around the world. Unfortunately, the folks that can afford economic problems the least will be hit the hardest. I don’t yet have much confidence in what’s happening in Washington DC. I wish I did.
