Carlos Ruiz Parade In David

Yesterday, while I was eating Pizza, I heard all sorts of horns start honking and sirens start blaring. It was obvious that someone important was coming down the street in front of Super99. I grabbed my camera and took a photo of the obvious celebrity that was riding atop the Bogaba fire truck.

It was none other than Chiriquí’s returning World Series hero, Carlos Ruiz. This is one of the things I love about Panama and especially Chiriquí. They are proud of everyone that brings positive recognition to Panama. How lucky that I was at the right place at the right time. Congratulations Carlos. Great job behind the plate.

Here is a close up of Carlos Ruiz.

  1. You have brought tears to my eyes with such a positive comment about my people and their pride. Keep doing such a wonderful job.

  2. Yes!! we are chiricanos! we are very proud of calicho! Great work man!.
Thanks Don Ray for another good news cover…

  3. Indeed, Don Ray, you were in the right placed at the right time; great scoop.

Texas Tech beat the living daylights out of OSU (as if you didn’t know). If OSU has a good pass rush, then Texas Tech has the best passing attack in college history; however, their offensive line cannot possibly be as good as they appeared to be in that game.

  4. Hi Tom. I confess. I did read about the score, but just wanted my cousin (a die-hard Oklahoma Aggie) to pass me the news. She did.

I hope TT doesn’t blow it. They have a great season going.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Glad you enjoyed Carlos’ photo.

  5. And let’s not forget about another great Chiricano MLB baseball player, Carlos Lee of the Houston Astros and although born in Aguadulce, believe he now lives in Chiriqui. If you go to the David Feria in March, his ranch always has an incredible showing of animals. His herd has the letters CL stamped on their hide.
And, unlike Mariano, he played for the Panamanian National Team in the World Baseball Championship.
