I’m glad to see that. It was hard to believe how expensive gas was when we were there last month.
Hi Kayra, It will take a longer time to have an effect on the price of other things. If a recuction ever will.
Is that per liter/gallon?
Hi,
How is Chiriqui pronounced?
Hi Fred. Gasoline is sold by the gallon in Panama. 91 octane is the equivilent of 87 octane in the US.
Chiriqui is pronounced Cheer E Key.
Don,
More specifically, it’s in US gallons (vs. Imperial Gallons). Prices in Seattle are about the same.
Cheers,
Dave
That is correct. Thanks for adding that comment.
Don,
The price here in Largo Florida for the unleaded regular gas is going for $3.70 Now. It should catch up to you guy’s soon. You know how that goes?
36 cents differnece now.
Don Ray:
It is $3.95 in Fresno today. First time in months under $4
I hope your water is running fine now. I still remember not having water from 9-7 during the dry season when living in David in my childhood!
Jaime^
Hi Jamie,
Water is back to normal. Thanks for asking.
Ours has really gone down in my area in N E TN. It is now around $3.45.9 a gallon. What is extra diesel? I came across your blog when I bstarted researching Panama. Thanks for all the info.
Hi Dee52. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Extra diesel is a higher grade of diesel. I don’t know themeasurment ratings for diesel.
I assume this is in US Dollars?
Our gas did reach $4.09 once but has been falling since and was down to $3.62 yesterday. I still think it is all a hoax and that it was planned at the Whine House with some help from friends in Arabia and places like that. I saw T. Boone Pickens the other day on television (I think that’s how you spell his name - he is the big oil man), and he was talking about saving on oil. The lady asked him what kind of car he had and he said, “Electric.” He went on to say that he just plugged it into the wall outlet when he came into the garage.
I like your new blog layout, David.
They have had some problems in the Panama City area with some stations delivering less than what the meter on the pumps shows. In Texas, the Dept. of Agriculture check the stations and put a seal on the pump if everything is okay. If not, they will red tag the pump until it is fixed. They also check meat scales at supermarkets.
Hi Abe. Yes, Panama uses the US dollar. Thanks for dropping in. I think there will be a fair amount of pressure to get the electric cars back into production.
Hi John. I had heard that there had been some problems with pumps in Panama City. Thanks for dropping in.
See!
USDollar up…Gas down!
Enjoy it while you can.. Just read of the HUGE US Naval flotilla approaching Iran. Plus things are heating up with Georgia-Russia

IN MIAMI SOME STATIONS WERE UP TO 4.19 LAST WEEK AND TODAY I GASED UP AND IT WAS DOWN TO 3.79& SOME STATIONS WERE 3.95
I understand that our prices should drop next time too. That should put us below $4.00 for 87 octane.
