I was in PriceSmart yesterday and saw the Dell package above. The components look good and the price didn’t seem all that bad. The price gives you a 160 Gig HD, DVD writer, 1.8 dual core processor, 1 Gig of memory, KB, Mouse and a 19 inch monitor. Price $800.
Searching the US Dell Site Internet, I found the current model, You can see that in the US this package is selling for $500.
The processor in the US is increased to a 2.0 dual core processor and the hard drive is bumped up to 250 gigs.
I decided to look at the Panama Dell Site and couldn’t find the slim model with Intel, but I did find the 530 model. You can see that it has a 2.4 processor and a 250 gig hard drive. It’s price was $600.
It pays to compare. My comparisons may not be apples to apples, but they will give you an idea.
