Internal Server Error

If you tried to get on CC earlier, you received the following.

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@chiriquichatter.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I knew it was a more serious problem than normal, when I checked on my web host and got the following.

If you are a regular in CC, then you know that there is another site (Chiriquí Chatter Status) that I use to notify readers if the site is down and any other information if it is known.

I am writing this while the site is down, so I am assuming that my web host will solve its problem. In the meantime, it reminds me that I am happy to be retired and not doing this for a living. If I were it would be driving me nuts. Now it is an aggravation, but I am not expecting a phone call asking me why critical systems are down and why can’t I get it fixed.

Instead, I can look out the window and see a bright day in the making. The Mañana philosophy isn’t all that bad. I know that, eventually, it will be fixed.

The site came up before I got this posted. Apparently my host is migrating users to new systems and I missed the email notification.

I spent the morning getting a friend up and running on openSUSE. I think he is happy with his new system.

  1. Not only did I get that error, but only your header appears in Firefox 3.0. If I open your website in the FF3 IE tab add-on (it is an add-on to FF3 to allow you to open a tab in IE) I get the blog – otherwise all I see is the header (and no tabs).
