Occupied – Go Have Some Fun
Jun 20th, 2008 by Don Ray
I have become completely absorbed in the installation of the new openSUSE system.
As I mentioned in the last post, the installation of KDE 4.0 has gone less than optimal. While there are many things I like, there are many things that have to be fixed before I could consider using this software platform on my primary PC.
KDE 4.0 is a VERY bleeding edge release. The stable release will not be here before December. If I decide I can’t live with the instability, I will move to either the open SUSE KDE 3.5.9 release or to the openSUSE Gnome release.
I have the full DVDs of both 32-bit and 64-bit in the process of being downloaded. To install the current system, I downloaded the 32-bit CD version, which was a much shorter download.
I thought I would just give you a heads up that I may be MIA, for the next week or so, until I get my technical fetish satisfied. This post is being done on openSUSE 11.0.

Okay, everybody list what they’re doing to go have some fun. We’re in San antonio, and we’re cooking a brown rice/wild rice mix, and some sauted shrimp with our super secret spices, rolled in cracker crumb /fresh parmesian dry breading mixture.
And then we’ll eat!!!!!!!
Don, you are officially a geek. Welcome to the club!
Hi Mary and all other readers
Greetings from Australia.
I am taking the kids to see ‘Kung Fu Panda’…. although I think I’d rather see ‘Sex and the City’.
Should be fun!
I am planning on taking the kids on a whale watching cruise which I know will be awesome…but that is still a few weeks away yet!
We went to see “Sex and the City”. It was wonderful! There were lots of boas flapping around in the audience. I’m working on my website. I’m trying to cut out the middleman by creating an online yard sale to sell a lifetime of possessions to prepare for retirement in Panama! Whew! It is time consuming, but a lot of fun! I’m trying to figure out the embedding code for videos to bypass Youtube. I don’t have a clue how to read code.
Don, how do you get at the top of Google’s search engine? I don’t have a lot of content yet, and I haven’t created any links, yet. But, I put in lots of keywords and a metatag description for each page.
