Hi J&N. I know nothing more than what was in the referenced web page. Until I see it finished, I won't believe it. This is a huge development for David. I can't believe it will be built speculating on occupancy. It is more likely that they will want to attract buyers to invest before it is started.

I agree with AS. I would not want to consider it without some serious study on the seismic conditions of this area and knowing how the engineering is going to take the seismic risk into consideration.

Hi Don Ray,
Do you know if the building will have even/odd floor elevators? The condos in Venezuela were like that when I lived there. That's where I learned a telling lesson about the thinking of norteamericanos vs latinos. One of the two elevators was always broken so if we were heading for the 10th floor on the ODD elevator we would stop at 9 and walk up. The Venezulanos would ride to 11 and walk DOWN!! haha

Seems that gringos want to get as close as possible without going past the target???

Hi Don Ray and readers,
I wouldn´t like to be inside nor around that building during an earthquake... Apart from the study by Instituto de Geociencias, that resulted in a map of the Seismic Vulnerabilty of David, ( published in CC) are there further studies - as recommended- for determining whether there are unknown seismic plates below this town?

Hi Omar. With all of the problems that Panama City is having with some of its high rise construction, one would have to wonder when and if this will get built in my life time. :)

Hi Don:

I'm really impressed with David's progress. This is a building that will put David in the map as a healthy growing city.

Regarding power outages, I'm sure the developers will install an emergency power plant....just in case.

Regards,

Omar.-

Hi Jaime. I changed the word to firm. Actually I had taken the lazy approach and let Google do the translation work. Thanks for catching that error.

As a side note, I would not want to be in the elevator when a power outage hit. :)

Don Ray:
Wow! Impressive. I think we are not in Kansas...err... David anymore!. Good translation. One thing only, "firma" is "firm" in English (like Tom Cruise movie "The Firm").
Thanks
Jaime^
