Great Season
Jun 1st, 2008 by Don Ray
My grandson Noah’s football season ended yesterday. Thanks to the Internet, I was able to watch the game this morning. Noah’s team is called the Lions and based on the season they had, you could hear the Lions roar all the way to Panama.
Here is a photo of the 2008 Lion team. Noah (number 80) is on the far left, second row.

The Lions ended their season with a record of 11 wins and 0 losses. Not too shabby! In yesterday’s game, Noah scored three of the Lion’s six touchdowns. Noah received the opening kickoff and ran the length of the field for the first score of the game. Here is a photo of Noah on that play.

Here is the final score.

Thanks go out to Wayne Brooks for providing the video and the server to download all of this season’s games.
Way to go Lions – that was a great season!

Congratulations to Noah and his team!
It never ceases to amaze me how incredible technology is and how important it has become to the lives of so many of us westerners!!! It is moments like this when you are able to watch your grandson play…yet you are so many thousands of miles away… that you really appreciate the wonder of modern technology.
Hi Chinasgal. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yes, the Internet can reduce the time and distance, but there is nothing like being there in person. Maybe teleportation will get here some day.
By the way, how are things in Australia?
Hi Don:
You just reminded me of the words of “Beam me up, Scotty from the science fiction television series “Star Trek.
Yep, technology works wonders, Don.
Regards.
Omar.-
Hi Omar. Yes, technology is pretty neat. I thought it was neat when I could stop the video of the touchdown run, capture it, and post is like a photo. Of course, I am amused easily.
hi grandpa this is noah your football star thank you for writing about me it looks good and how do you get pictures by pulling parts from it thats cool cant wait to see you again love you, noah
Hi Noah. Glad you enjoyed the post. I selected a couple still photos from the video to get the score and to get your running.
Love you too. Grandpa.
Hi Don!
Kim sent me the link to your blog. I am so glad you are able to watch Noah playing football like a mad-man. This makes all of my effort worth while. This is exactly what I was hoping for. I knew the kids would enjoy it, but they were there at the game, so they’ve seen it (sort of). I was hoping someone far away would be able to take advantage of it.
I met Noah a few years ago on our first Tackle football team. My son (Tyler) and I met up with him again last season. We were fortunate enough to get hooked up with the best team in the league and were one game short of the Championships in Disney. This coming season, we are teaming up the best players from 2 of the top teams from last year and hopefully we can go all the way! Noah is a great asset to the team because he is fast as heck and can pass and run the ball.
We will have game video on the net in the Fall too, so stay tuned!!!

Hi Wayne. I have definitely made good use of the game videos. They were a tremendous benefit for me. If it wasn’t for them, I would never have been able to see Noah play. Thanks again for all your efforts.
Hi Don Ray
Things in Australia are good…although a little cold at the moment as we are in Winter.
I haven’t had much opportunity to surf the net lately as I have been busy with work and kids…plus my lucky husband is in Panama having a lovely holiday…and taking great delight in telling me about eating all his (and mine) favourite Panamanian foods!!!!!!
We are hoping to have a family holiday in Panama next Christmas and I have decided that we must go up to Chiriqui and have a look around. This is thanks to your web site which has given me ideas after reading about your great stories and seeing the great pictures. I am already in preperation mode!
I would love to take you out to lunch and say thanks for providing me with such great information and an ongoing link to Panama. It looks like Renegado’s would be great! So hopefully we can catch up next year.
Cheers.
Hi CG. I really need to plan on going to Australia someday too. It has always been on my list of places to see. However, I don’t think the Winter time is the best for me to visit. I am a little short on winter clothes now.
When you get here, look me up. I appreciate your nice comment.
