Wow. I wonder how this is going to affect the cost of taxis and bus fare. Gas is at $3.70 per gallon of regular. I just don’t know how anyone with a Panamanian salary could afford to drive with those prices.
Prices went up today in Lenoir, NC, too — $3.69 for Octane 89 now, and $4.18 for diesel. Luckily, I filled my diesel truck last week and it only cost me $118. For us, this is an inconvenience, but I know lots of folks here in the backwoods for whom these fuel prices are severely reducing the quality of food on the table.
If that’s a Panama sign.. it’s per liter.. 3.75 liters per gallon = $15.00 gallon?
Sorry Scott, but you are incorrect. Panama sells gasoline in gallons. The price is $/gallon - the same as in the US. Only the octane ratings differ. 91 in Panama = 87 in the US.
Ouch! Just in time for me to drive up there from PC at the end of the month…
I think we might as well get used to $4 gas.
