Happy Birthday Uncle Horace
May 4th, 2008 by Don Ray

I was asleep at the wheel and didn’t get this posted yesterday. The young fella on the left was 92 yesterday. I talked to him this morning on the phone and he was talking to me about my class reunion that is coming up in September. He said if I went, I would be the only young one there. He said I would be surprised how everyone I knew back then had aged.
That is probably pretty prophetic. He has the same fire and sense of humor that I remember when I was a mere lad. He still heads out to the farm five days a week just to make sure everyone is following his instructions. He is one person that is sharp today as he was when I was having my diapers changed. I can’t say that about myself.
Sorry this was a day late, but Horace, I just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you.

I certainly know what he means. I went to a reunion and was surprised at how everyone had aged a great deal with one exception.
Also, have you, Don Ray, noticed how much more comfortable cars were 40 years ago?. You could drive all day and not be stiff and sore, but nowadays that just isn’t true. And the funny thing is that car seats today look to be better designed.
Hi Tom. I have noticed that about the new cars. I wonder if any of the manufacturers are paying attention.
This young man is the great uncle of Noah and also shared a background of playing basketball and baseball. He is also the uncle of Don and looked just about as good in his basketball picture. We are thankful for good health and good genes. Thank goodness we share those genes. Thanks Don! Jan
Hi Jan. I would have put in the basketball photo if I had it.
