Sofia Visits Optica Lopez

Yesterday, I went with Dr. Sussan and her daughter, Sofia, to visit friends at Optica Lopez. Dr Sussan used to be the doctor you would see, if you went to have your vision checked. It was on one such a visit, that I got to meet this group of young ladies, excluding Martha.
Optica Lopez was the last of the optical stores that I visited in David. It was also the first one I went into that I wasn’t treated like a gringo with extra money to spend. I use bifocals, and all of the other optical shops tried to convince me to purchase the more expensive “progressive” lenses. When I went to Optica Lopez, they asked which I preferred.
That first visit started a great set of friendships for me.
This is a photo of Yajaira, Carla, Sofia, Martha, and Dr. Sussan.
You may remember photos I took at Yajaira’s wedding. While you can’t really tell it yet, Yajaira and her husband Angel are expecting their first child in about four more months.
Carla is holding Sofia. She told me that I need to send a nice young gringo her way. So any younger gringo that may be reading, your introduction has been created.
Martha is the most recent employee and I have just gotten to know her.
Dr. Sussan has moved to Panama City where she continues to work for Optica Lopez.
Since many people were looking at frames, Sofia wanted to see how she looked in frames also. “Let’s see how these work.”
“What do you think? Are they a little large for me?”
“I think these are a little more my size. If I ever need glasses, I think I will choose these.”
She soon became bored with that and decided she would go over and flirt with a young man that was in the waiting area.
It was good seeing my friends at Optica Lopez. While I was waiting, Carla cleaned and adjusted my glasses. It is amazing how much clearer the world looks today. Maybe I should go in more often.
If you drop into Optica Lopez, tell them that you read about them in Chiriquí Chatter. Also tell Carla that you are scouting for a gringo for her and tell Yajaira that you feel confident that she is going to have a girl.

I can´t refrain from saying that Sophia´s photos brighten Chiriqui Chatter. She is so lovely! I have heard from other sources that people at Optica López are very kind. Yes, I had seen the pictures of the wedding and don´t doubt that Yahaira will be included in my prayers.

Nice story! And as the others have said, Sofia is a real charmer.
FWIW, most of the folks I know here in PC are using Optica Lopez and we’ve all been very satisfied.
