A BIG OMG!!!...My wife (Karen) and I had lunch at Renegado today and I believe I had one of the best meals I have ever experienced on the face of this planet. I ordered the carne cannelonni and Karen had a pasta dish with bacon specially ordered by David (Owner) for her. Bertha his wife did the cooking. The beer was ice cold and David is very witty and humorous. My son is coming from Oregon next week and Restaurante Renegado will definitely be on our agenda. Thanks Don for tipping us off to one of the best restaurants in the universe!!!!Wolfgang Puck...you need to take lesson's from Bertha ...on making great cannelonni.

Hi Wendy. Now that makes a little more sense. Since my post on Amigos was the only time I had been there, I have no experience with their burgers. However, I have eaten burgers in most of the other restaurants in Boquete that serves them. Don't remember any I thought were as good as Las Brasas.

Still all people have different tastes. I guess that is a good thing ot there would be fewer restaurants.

Hank must be talking about your article on Amigo's in Boquete. His Comment is tacked on to one about the Renegado which, in my memory, does not serve burgers and which is, in my opinion, a class act restaurant.
Amigo's is a friendly, burger joint where good ol grease gets an A. I'd go 'there a lot more if they ever decided to drain before serving their papas fritas or cebollas fritas or anything else fritas. Otherwise, the food is okay.

Actually, I believe the best burgers are in David, but the restaurant that makes them is currently being enlarged and remodeled. It is Las Brasas.

Boquete has several good restaurants. I am not sure I would agree that they all are the best.

Don: We finally got to Renegado yesterday. It was all you said it would be and more. We had a great meal: corvina ceviche, Peruvian style; osso bucco, with traditional marrow; corvina with seafood salsa, and terrific papas fritas. All were excellently prepared and plated. I even got Bertha to kick up my ceviche a notch with some picante spices from Peru! We look forward to duck, canneloni, and lamb......mmmmm. The best part about the wonderful cuisine are the wonderful owners. I'd just go back and drink icy cold cerveza just to chat with them. Thanks to David and Bertha for providing us with a terrific lunchtime treat.

And thanks to you, Don, for steering us there!!!
