Maybe it is time for an update on my ASUS Eee PC.
It has been two weeks since I wrote about my weee purchase. It appears that it is going to do everything that I desired of it. It is small enough to fit in most women’s purses and it is light and appears to be durable.
I have taken it out with me to check on wifi locations. If I get enough to post, I will make a post. If you have run into any in David, you might let me know and I will add it to my compiled list. To this point, the only restaurant I have verified is TGI Fridays. I remember that the bowling alley had wireless, but I haven’t been back to verify it.
I was outside OTEIMA the other day and found about three wifi networks, but none were available for connection. OTEIMA’s must be set up for students and is password protected.
I am still running the XANDROS Linux OS, that came with the PC, and for the moment have no intention in changing. It works well and its simple interface is nice if I let someone, that isn’t very PC literate, use it.
I have tried connecting it to my portable 80 gig hard drive and it works fine. That gives me plenty of storage if I want to take it on longer trips.
All in all I think this is going to be a great little device.
