Costa Rica Trip - Day Two (Playa Blanca)
Feb 22nd, 2008 by Don Ray
I am going to go out on a limb and guess that you got a good night’s sleep and are ready to start another day in Costa Rica.
Lets start off by going to Playa Blanca. I decided this beach got its name because there is a lot of white coral pieces along the beach.

Here is a closeup of the coral.

In the distance there is a cruise ship.

The tide is currently out. When the tide comes in this mermaid statue will be up to its tail in water.

Lets move on down the beach a ways.

Down the way a bit is a little tourist area.

I noticed this little house close by and it appears to be having a slight roof leak.

If you need a little exercise, you can rent a kayak. Just don’t forget the sunscreen.

I guess you could rent this and need a little less sunscreen.

Is there anything neater than treas that grow in a tropical setting?

I shot these two coconuts. The one on the right is the size of a basketball.

A little reminder that the beach is here to enjoy and not contaminate.

Here is a little sand crab art work. Wonder if the artist is in that hole.

I don’t know if this is the artist or an artist wannabe.

Well, that concludes out visit to Playa Blanca. Hope you enjoyed the outing.

Great pictures, Don. Thanks for uploading them.
Thanks Sunshine.
Don,
Great! Nice pics.. beaches look very very private & uncrowded! Let us know if you stumbled upon any white sand places. I’ve been told Manual Antonio is pretty nice with ‘white’ sand, but then again we’ve not been there…real expensive place I hear.. Also, it’d be nice if you scare up a nice map and plot all the places you’ve been. I think it’d be a great adjunct to all the great photos & commentary.
Saludos!

Hi KK. No I never did see white sand beaches. I need to work on the map thingy.
