With guests from out of town visiting, we have been going out, eating and having fun. The other evening, we went to Renagados for our evening meal. I usually eat lighter at night so it gave me an opportunity to try the ceviche. I had the corvina ceviche. It was a Peruvian recipe and contained corn and potato. I enjoyed it.

Another had the shrimp ceviche. I asked how it was and was told that it was a 9 ½ on a scale of 10. Not bad from a tough critic.

Yesterday, we went to La Barqueta to let the kiddos play on the beach and swim in a friends pool.
I stopped at Pizza Hut to get some pizzas to take for the outing. It was a good test to see how long it would take to get pizza if the restaurant was not packed. I was there exactly at noon. I ordered three family pizzas to go. From the time the order was given to the kitchen until they were given to me was 27 minutes.
The drive to La Barqueta was good. It appears that much of the road going to La Barqueta have been repaired since my last drive. It takes about 30 minutes to drive depending on how fast you drive. We arrived a little after one and the day could not have been prettier.
After several slices of pizza the kiddos and their mom headed to the beach. I stayed in the shade sipping suds with our hosts (one of which was celebrating a birthday). Shame on her for not letting me know earlier. I would have baked a cake (maybe she is afraid of my cakes).
I always enjoy time close to the beach. There are so many creatures to photograph.
This pretty little bird dropped in to say hello. Looks like he dropped something else while he was there. ![]()

This bird was floating in the air. They are amazing how they catch the air and just float in one position.

We also took a little walk to see if any of the alligators were out. We did find one.

I also caught this pretty bird feeding.

This little fellow was watching me.

Just after I took this photo, this follow ran across the water. It was a site to see. He ran on his hind two feet just on the service of the water. Notice the size of his hind feet.

We returned to the house in time for the kiddos to return from the beach and try out the pool. They had a great time and I was sure they would be dead tired when we got home and sleep sound. At midnight they were still wound up and going strong.

It was a great day (Wonderful weather, Great company, The sound of children plaything and having fun). It just doesn’t get better than this.
Thanks go out to our wonderful host for a great time. I have recorded the birth date and I will be better prepared next year.

don,
nice shots, i was out there yesterday and it was beatiuful.
the soring bird is a frigate. they are fantastic to watch.
Hi Bob. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. There were also several groups of pelicans that flew over in a “V” formation, but I didn’t have my camera ready to catch their photo.
Don, great pictures as always. But I have to ask this question. I was at the Playa Barqueta last month and I didn’t see any alligators. Where did you find those there? I was just worried about sharks.
Hi Mike. If you are facing the hotel, you follow the road to the left and it will cross a little bridge. This is the area where the alligators sun themselves.
thanks for a day filled with joy and celebration . It could not have been any better than sharing it with all of you !
Thanks Sharon. That was nice of you to say that.
Hi Bob I just got on your site and I’m enjoying the pictures. I am a 59 year old American thinking about retiring in Panama. I am an RN and my husband is a Ph.D college Professor. We would like to retire in an area where we could get reasonable healthcare, have good climate and interesting people. We need to get in touch with a real estate agent to show us property. We saw that you live in David. What can you tell us about that area and why did you choose it? Did you use a real estate agent when you relocated? If you could recommend someone that would be wonderful. We own a beach house on the outer banks of NC but the area is very expense to live and an early retirement would be difficult. The prices in Panama appear to be very reasonable. We hope we will find the area as lovely as it appears in pictures.
Again, any info you could share would be appreciated.
My best
Nancy
Hi Nancy. First my name is Don not Bob.
Second - read a little more of the past posts and see if some of your questions are answered. If they aren´t then drop me another note.
