While I was at the airport the other day, I noticed this large plaque on the wall, where you leave and return from Aero Perlas / TACA flights. I can understand enough to tell that this is a beautiful poem. Continue reading Your Assignment – Should You Choose To Accept It
Yesterday, the David Yahoo Group had its evening meeting at Stella’s Marina in Pedregal. It had been about 3 months since my last visit to this restaurant.
I normally eat light in the evening, but I couldn’t pass up the fried shrimp special for $8. I didn’t take a photo, but it was a lot of food. Enough that the one plate fed two. 15 nice sized shrimp, French fries, and vegetables. Really a bargain for what I received. I also got a slice of the lemon pie to go.
As you can see from the photo, we had a good turnout for the yahoo group. However, even without our turnout, there was a good crowd. I guess the word has gotten around that the marina has a great restaurant.
I stopped and talked to the owner, Walter Unholz and told him my meal was as good as the first time I ate there. It is obvious that an owner being on site is important to the quality of a restaurant remaining high. Thanks for the great food Walter, I will be back!
It’s hard to be nostalgic when you can’t remember anything.
If you are an UBUNTU user or are interested in UBUNTU, then the Full Circle e-magazine is a must read.
The latest edition is now available for download. To download, click HERE.
This edition talks about installing Linux Mint, an UBUNTU derivative that I like. Also, there is an article on installing XUBUNTU on the ASUS Eee, that I just purchased. Guess what I am going to investigate?
I finally got around to taking advantage of the February special at Dental Esthetic. My teeth feel so clean and fresh now. This has been one of my best finds in David for medical professionals.
Doctor Miriam Rodriguez said she is taking a class in English to better serve those of us that struggle every now and then in Spanish. She said she was a little old to be studying a second language. I bet she didn’t get issued a small slate and chalk when she started school.
Actually, neither did I . They stopped that practice a year before I started school. 🙂 I did have to buy a Big Red tablet and a bottle of ink to go in the ink well of my desk. Gosh that makes me feel old.
Closing out the LG Monitor saga. LG made good on their warranty. They issued credit for my entire purchase price. I couldn’t be happier. I went from a 17 inch wide-screen plasma monitor that also included a built in TV to a 22 inch wide-screen monitor and a gift certificate for the balance.
This new monitor is incredible. It just doesn’t get any better than this.

My Asus Eee arrived from the US today. I had been wanting a small laptop PC to carry with me on trips. Last summer when I was in Oklahoma and Texas, I was in a couple of motels that had wireless Internet service and I had no PC. I have now solved that problem.
This is an ASUS Eee PC. It only has 4 Gig of storage memory, but I also purchased a 8 gig flash card, so I effectively have 12 gig.It uses a Linux operating system, so the amount of memory I have is fine for my purposes. The price through Amazon was $441.61 for the PC and flash memory.
The problem with most laptops is that they are large, heavy and probably require a briefcase to tote them around. This one weighs 2 pounds and is about the size of two of my paperbacks laying side by side.
I charged the battery and it was ready to go. I tested it both on my LAN as well as with wireless and it worked flawlessly. Now if I had just one one of those TACA tickets, I would be good to go.
