Sunday’s Outing
Jan 8th, 2008 by Don Ray
Like most Sundays we went out to eat our noon meal. This day Tamburrelli’s was the joint decision. It was a good choice.
One thing I ordered, that I haven’t had in a while was sangria. I don’t remember where I last ordered it, but it came just as a plain wine and contained no fruit of any kind. Before ordering we made sure it was fresh made and had some sort of fruit.

As you can see above, this contained apple. It was made and not bought. It was a very refreshing drink and I really enjoyed it.
For my meal, I ordered the langostinos (jumbo shrimp). It came with five large shrimp. While there was only 5, they equaled at least 10 good sized shrimp. It was the flavor, that I really enjoyed. They are absolutely the best tasting shrimp I have had in a LONG time. They weren’t cheap (around $12.00), but I thought they were worth the money.

Another had chicken breasts. They were seasoned very nice and cooked to perfection.

I couldn’t leave without having a dessert. I don’t remember the name, but it was a brownie covered with ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate syrup. It was large enough that three of us enjoyed it. Yum.

David has enough good restaurants, that it is really hard to make the decision of where to go. Tamburrelli’s is always a safe choice. One of these days, I should make a post containing all the restaurants I like, so that the appear in one place.
Directions to Tamburrelli’s:
Take Las Brasas (the street that has Super99, McDonald’s, Nissan, etc) as if you were going to the Airport. When you get to the dead end, go left. Going right would take you to the airport. On your left as you approach the next corner is Tamburrelli’s.

I think you should you visit a different restaurant each day and give it a score. Then, when you’re done, you just post the full list.
Not sure about the effects on your waistline, though…
I am sure the waistline couldn’t handle it.
I enjoy your restaurant reviews and always try to find the time to eat at one of them whenever I’m in David. One thing I’d like to see in your reviews are directions to the subject restaurant… you know, with landmarks instead of street names. I know Tamburelli’s (it’s one of my faves), but some newcomers might not know how to find it.
I would print out and carry any restaurant list you provide here, even using it as an excuse to drive down for an adventure in eating. Maybe an annual accompaniment to the New Year Resolutions would be your list of the best restaurants in Boquete and David. It would be a best-seller!
Hi Fran,
If I have given directions to a restaurant in the past, I typically don’t do it again. I need to figure out a way to solve that problem. I usually try to connect previous posts with pointers to previous posts, but maybe that isn’t good enough.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
How about an annual downloadable .pdf file of your restaurant reviews?
I will figure something out. I have had the comment before, but I just have not acted on it, if a previous post contained directions. I don’t think I have made first post that didn’t contain the directions. The tags allow you to see posts just for David or Boquete restaurants, so it is easy to just see those post by clicking on the appropriate category tag.
