Internet Activo

You may remember on a previous trip to the Chiriquí Mall, I took the photo above. The company says it provides Internet access in difficult locations. I was at the mall again today and stopped in to find out a little about their services.
The young lady at the reception desk (who spoke very good English) provided me with the following website URL - http://www.tierrasaltas.net/ The site is in Spanish, but you can use the Google translation to get more information on their services.

Like to know what they mean by difficult access. The prices are less than here in Quito. Here I pay $140 USC for 256 k.
It is access in difficult locations. They provide a high speed wireless type of service. This is typically for remote areas where there may be no telephone or cable connections. These have to be line of sight connections and there must be a visible view of the broadcast tower.
Hi,
By difficult access we at Internet Activo mean “in the worse case” anywhere you can see the sky. We can install satellite downloads of 1 meg down and 256 up anywhere in Panama for around 200 per month. that is worse case. If you can see one of our towers the price is more like $55 per month for 512 up and down. In all cases you need to purchase the equipment.
Feel free to write me at angel@tierrasaltas.net with any questions or drop by the chirique Mall.
