Gas Prices December 16

Notice anything different?

The relative gas prices are cheaper than the diesel prices. Usually diesel is a fair amount cheaper. Maybe the tide is turning.

Don,
Glad you are feeling better! ;). That sun sure is hot on a sunny day, no? Seems like the price of sunblock is high anywhere you go! Anyhow, fuel prices usually moderate around the holidays so people feel better about spending money on gifts rather than gas.
A friend explained to me that diesel is an industrial fuel. I don’t know how that affects pricing but there you have it.
Higher & higher diesel prices relative to dipping gasoline prices is nothing to really cheer about since about 95% of all truck transportation runs diesel. Therefore, if you save a few bucks at the pump, you’ll surely more than make up for the savings with higher prices on everything else. The USPeso has been moving up from its temporary bottom and that may also have something to do with moderating gasoline prices.. Stay tuned; more fireworks to come!

I remember last year I was in panama for more than 7 months and driving a toyota diesel and diesel prices were higher than gas …
mileage however is much higher and made up for the higher initial cost
Hi Gerry, It may all depend on the model and year of the car. Repair of the diesel is higher than a comparable gas car, however, some say that they need less maintenance.
