Grandpa – Did you have a good turkey day?
Nov 23rd, 2007 by Don Ray
Carson, I chose to not eat turkey, but I did have a good day of thanks giving. I considered having a traditional meal and even went by TGI Fridays to see if they had a special. Being a US restaurant, I thought they might, and they did. They has a turkey platter for $11.95.
I didn’t see the plate and it was certainly cheaper than driving to Panamonte in Boquete, but I decided I didn’t need turkey to remember the things that I am thankful for.
I decided to return to the Renegado. Once again, I was very pleased with my meal.
David brought us a bowl of their seafood soup to try. It was very good. Plenty of clams, octopus, squid and artificial crab. I am not always the biggest fan of seafood soup, but I would eat this any day.

Two of us had the shrimp platter (camarones a la plancha). It was exceptional. I especially enjoyed the clams and the fantastic sauce they were in. The potatoes were great and even better with a little of the sauce from the clams.

Another had fish in a green sauce. I was told it received two thumbs up.

David then brought me a coffee with whiskey drink to try. It was very smooth, and sort of like Kahlua, but a little less sweet. Very good!

Then Berta brought a special pisco drink for the three of us. It extremely good. What a great way to top off a great meal!

Both Berta and David wished us a very happy thanksgiving. While, this wasn’t a traditional thanksgiving dinner, it was extremely good and the bill for three was less than what it would have cost for two to have eaten at TGIF. Now that is something to be thankful all by itself.

It does look delicious. Anything right now would taste better than turkey leftovers. LOL
Hi Abe. I have to admit that I always enjoyed trukey leftovers. But on the whole, I didn’t mind missing the traditional dinner.
By the way, I enjoyed your raccoon photo.
Oh My! look at those beautiful eyes!
Hi Melissa. They are pretty eyes aren’t they.
