Really enjoying catching up the last three weeks I missed on your site. There’s always a lot of good stuff here that’s light and enjoyable.
I’m heading out to San Jose with my husband in January and thinking about heading out to either Panama again or Nicaragua for some surfing. I’ve run into a pretty good opportunity to stay at the Las Olas resort for 4 nights for about $100 out in Chiriqui (province?). Do you have any experience with this place? Does it require private transportation to get there? TIA for any help.

I know Las Olas, but have never stayed there. The price does sound like it is a lot less than the normal. Las Olas has a website,. Maybe it has some information on transportation.
If you are considering Las Olas for surfing, I would do more investigation for others recommendations. It is not know as one of the safest beaches to swim at because of riptides. I have never seen anyone surfing there,
