Barnard’s Revisited

I had to drop someone off at the airport today for the 12:00PM flight and decided to have lunch at Bernard’s and make sure they got off ok. Let’s see what is the special of the day.

After talking to Barnard, I decided to go with Stromboli. This dish is named after a small island off Sicily which is famous for it’s volcano. I figured that the flavor would have to be very Italian and I was ready.

As I said in the last post on Bernard’s, this is the place to be, if you want to relax and watch the planes land and take off. This is the plane I am waiting to see off. You can tell that the day is a little overcast.

While I was waiting, I couldn’t keep from wandering over to the pastry station to see if I could tempt myself. Guess what? I did.

My Stromboli arrived.

It was filled with various meats, cheese, red sauce and other good things. Yummm!

Just about then the plane started boarding. If you notice the tail has www.tacaregional.com and the website shows that the carrier covers much of Latin America. I noticed that the boarding passes had changed since the last time I had used flown.

It took off shortly thereafter.

Then I returned to my meal. The Stromboli was very good. With the extensive menu, I will probably be back often.

Remembering my earlier temptation, I ordered a slice of the cake. It had a very delicate flavor and the extra chocolate made it even better.

Like I have said before, Bernard’s is a great place to go if you are waiting for a plane to arrive or take off or you just want something good to eat.

Oh yes, if you drop by Bernard’s, tell them that Chiriquí Chatter recommended it to you.

  1. Bernard´s have the most delicious and different food in David. For me is the best. I Know him from Bocas del Toro and his food alway was spectacular.
    xoxo Don Ray.

  2. Hi, Don Ray
Bernard has a new restaurant in David. Do you have a phone number for him? I would like to find out whether the restaurant is open on Mondays, for lunch or for dinner.
    Thanks.

  3. I have a post on his new restaurant somewhere, but I can’t find it. I feel pretty certain the restaurant is open on Mondays, because it used to be closed on Sundays. I could be wrong. I need to go back by Bernard’s and see how he is doing. If you go by, tell him I said hello.
