Beauty Is Only Skin Deep

Here is another photo I took in the frontera. I had stopped at Pio Pio to grab a bite to eat. After eating my meal, I thought I could handle an apple pie. When you look at the photo, can’t you just taste the sweet goodness that awaits? The only thing better than some apple pie is apple pie ala mode.

However, when I opened the carton, I was greeted with this! This is marketing vs. reality.

Now, many might have returned it to the counter and requested another. Not me. I enjoyed every delicious bite. When you have lived as long as I have, you realize that it is what is on the inside that really counts.
My packaging isn’t what it used to be either, however I wouldn’t want to be pushed to the side because of a few extra miles. If you are reading between the lines, maybe you can think of some deserving person that needs to be reminded that you only see what is on the inside. It is wise for all of us to remember that beauty is only skin deep. Or is that crust deep?
