Shhhhhhh – It Is A Secret
Sep 25th, 2007 by Don Ray
Today was a special day for a special young lady. Today was Natalie’s birthday. Under the guise of getting her to help me with my driver’s license today, I got Natalie to go for a ride. Then I surprised her by taking her to TGI Friday’s for a birthday lunch. She really didn’t want to go in, but I and her mother finally convinced her. It was not easy.
We all had a very nice meal. Natalie has fried shrimp. Her mother had fish.
And I had a special steak that they are currently running.
Then I took a “bathroom break”, which was only a way to notify the TGIF staff of the special occasion.
Here is Natalie on the left getting serenaded. You can tell that she isn’t real happy with me for embarrassing her. What can I say. The devil made me do it.

Then later, I presented her with her cake that I made. It wasn’t all that attractive, but it tasted pretty good. It was a Kahlua and coconut chocolate cake. I removed all the calories.

HEY DON
I WANNA KNOW HOW TO MAKE THAT CAKE. IT SURE LOOKS AND SOUNDS GOOD
DAVE
Well, to be honest I cheated a little. Here is a link to the real recipe. http://www.chiriquichatter.net/blog/2006/05/27/the-last-slice/ Actually I like the real recipe better, but I only had a chocolate cake mix in the pantry and I substituted it for the yellow cake mix.
Then I skipped the brown sugar, since I wasn’t going to have a multicoloured cake. I had some coconut in the fridge and some chocolate frosting, so I improvised some more. Oh, yes, I only has walnuts, so that was another change.
Other than that, the recipe is correct.
