Putting Things In Focus

If you are moving to Panama, make sure you have invested in a good digital camera. There is so much beauty and items of interest in Panama, that you will kick yourself if you don’t have a camera. Personally, I think that in today’s world it makes sense to have more than one camera. I have two.
My first camera is a Canon A85 and it does a great job in all conditions. It is easy for even a novice to use and with its small size it is less of a nuisance to carry around.

My second camera is the new Olympus SP550UZ. It was as close as I could afford to come to a SLR. I am still getting used to its peculiarities, but I am impressed with its capability. The reason, I didn’t go with a SLR, is that sometimes I want to take a movie and SLRs don’t currently have that capability.

While I eliminated a SLR as my choice, you might be thinking about getting one. If you are, then here is a new review on SLRs that you might be interested in reading.

Hello Don,
You made a good choice in your camera. My son, a professional in West Palm Beach, Florida, uses Olympus cameras (all digital) but they cost more than my Canons do, I think. Anyway, I read your post with interest because I can tell you that an SLR is great and I have two of them (both Canon) and I have good Canon Lenses. One cost more than both cameras. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that there is a camera that is a point and shoot by Panasonic. Most of them have Leica lenses and they have extreme wide angle lenses. They take exceptional photographs. I am thinking of getting the newest one that comes out on October 27th.. It is $399.00 at Amazon.com. “Panasonic-DMC-FZ18K” My daughter has the FZ1 which is older now but the close-ups are astonishing. I want something I can get next to a wasp or hornet or bumblebee without getting stung or bit and this seems to be my best bet.
I enjoyed your post today.
Hi Abe. Thanks for dropping in. Your photos are one of the reasons, I considered a SLR. I always enjoy seeing what new nature photo you have posted.
