xD Reader Doesn’t Work

I have finally diagnosed that the xD memory reader that I got with my camera purchase doesn’t work. I tried it with all operating systems (UBUNTU Linux, Apple OSX, Windows XP) and none recognize that there is any data.
I therefore conclude that the reader is the problem and will have to find another to try. [...]
