This is the highest I can remember. With the US prices lowering in the last few days, I hope it lowers here soon.

Don Ray,
I really made a mistake selling the XOM! Usually gas prices come down a bit this time of year to kind of grease the vacation skids. Who knows? Is there a real shortage or is it manufactured? Are supplies robust and refining capacity lacking or not? Does continual war have anything to do with fuel prices?

I just think that alternative fuels need to happen sooner than later.
Doesn’t our gas in Panama come from refineries in Venezuela? Maybe Sr. Chavez is too busy with his anti-American stuff to care about us poor folks here………..
Hi Wendy - I have no idea where Panama receives its gas. However in the past when i have see the US prices go down, then soon Panama’s price goes down too.
Hi ya,
Spare a thought for us in Australia…at the moment where I live we are paying $1.36 for a litre of petrol!
If my calculations are right that equals about $5 a gallon!!!
Hi Chinasgal,
Yes, I am aware that it could be worse. I know of some locations in the US that are paying as much or more as we are. And Europe is always higher also. The world needs to get away from dependence on oil for its transportation.
I filled up last night in Balboa next door to the Florida State University campus and it was $3.60 a gallon for 91 octane. That’s about 20 cents agallon more than I paid in Coronado two weeks ago when I last filled up.
Our 2005 US-spec Hyundai Tucson (V-6, 4wd) has always disappointed on mileage (best ever was almost 22mph cruising on Interstates) gviving about 16-18 around town and on secondary roads here so fill-ups are becoming a bit alarming.
The only saving grace is that we probably drive less than 50 miles a week on average so it’s only when we take trips that we notice. Still, I’ve never been a fan of gas-guzzlers so I’m definitely irritated.
I hope that this car lasts as long as I do, but if I ever do need to replace it, I’d probably think very hard about exactly how much longer I’m going to be interested in exploring goat trails and whether I really need the V-6, 4wd and high ground clearance.\
FWIW..
Hi Mike. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Your gas price would correspond to our $3.51 for our 95 octane, which is equal to 91 octane in the US.
