Scanner IS Now Operational Under UBUNTU 7.04

I finally got tired of not having a scanner, and I am not sure how long it is going to take for the fix to be included in the normal maintenance, so today, I went back to the forums, and tried one of the suggested workarounds.
I now have an operational CanoScan Lide 20 scanner. The fix required me to install a scan button daemon. I did and activated the daemon and the scanner now works. I had seen this workaround the other day, but don’t like putting in workarounds since they usually quit working when some new maintenance gets installed.
However, for now, I am a happy camper. I am easy though. It doesn’t take too much most of the time to make me happy. Now I can move on to getting Spanish characters to work.

Glad to see you have a working solution. I might want to look at this as well (even though I have a working scanner).
